14 Swinging and melodious solos over two of the most important chord progressions in jazz. Fred demonstrates the solos, alternating between alto and tenor saxophones, along with the rhythym section. To give variety to the tracks, different rhythmic feel s (from swing to Afro-Cuban), keys, tempos and chordal accompaniment were used. In order for the written solos to remain in playable ranges for Eb and Bb instruments, it was necessary to record two complete sets of the rhytym section accomp animent. The book contains helpful information on chord scales and a short analysis of each solo.
